Material Girls 1pm-5pm

Material Girls: Lynn Aldrich & Sabina Ott

March 23 - June 4, 2017

Tuesday April 25 12-1pm there will be a private luncheon in the gallery, patrons are suggested to visit after 1pm. 

Material Girls profiles two nationally known artists Lynn Aldrich (Los Angeles) and Sabina Ott (Chicago), who work intensely with every day, banal materials or objects and transform them into distinctive artworks. Riffing on Madonna’s 1980s song for the title, Material Girls focuses on the artists’ process and their capacity to disguise or alter the materials, using displacement, repetition, and unanticipated combinations.  Aldrich and Ott practice a constant recontextulization of materials, producing  artworks that are large-scale, enigmatic and astounding—with a touch of humor.

Admission: $5 adults, $3 youth (13-17), Free for children 12 & under. Free for members of the Bedford.
