 Dog Park Location and Hours

The Walnut Creek Dog Park is located at the north end of Heather Farm Park. The one-acre, off-leash dog area is fenced with segregated areas for small/senior dogs and large dogs. Parking and restrooms are available nearby, and the park is fully accessible to the disabled. 

The dog park is open 8 a.m. to dusk every day except Thursday. On Thursdays, the Dog Park is open from noon until dusk, to allow for routine maintenance.

Out of respect for the surrounding neighbors, please park your vehicle at the Dog Park when visiting.

Dog Park Rules

The dog park is open 8:00 a.m. to dusk every day except Thursday.

On Thursdays, the Dog Park is open from noon until dusk to allow for routine maintenance. 

  • Owners are legally responsible for their dog(s) and any damage and/or injury caused by their dog(s). Persons violating these rules are subject to citation.
  • Owners must carry a leash for each dog at all times and leash and unleash dogs only inside the double-gated area.
  • Dogs are allowed off-leash when accompanied by, and under positive control of the person bringing the dog into the park.
  • Dogs must wear a collar with identification and license. No prong/pinch collars, please.
  • All dog feces must be removed immediately and placed in the provided trash receptacles.
  • No more than three (3) dogs per adult are permitted in the park.
  • Dogs in heat are not allowed in the park.
  • The small dog area is for dogs under 30 lbs. or elderly and weak.
  • Dogs under 4 months of age are prohibited in this off-leash facility. All dogs must be current on their vaccinations and free of contagious diseases, conditions and parasites.
  • Excessive barking and/or noise is not permitted.
  • Dogs showing aggression toward people or other dogs must be immediately removed from the park by the owner/guardian.
