Air Quality Monitoring & Protocols

Over the past several years, California has experienced a growing number of wildfires that are consuming a record-breaking amount of land and contributing to hazardous air quality conditions while they burn. The hazardous air quality may place participants of our programs at a health risk depending on the programming and air quality conditions.

Power Outages

With an increase of wildfire risk in California, PG&E began Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) as a measure to help reduce the risk of wildfires. According to PG&E, factors that lead to PSPS include severe weather, heat, and low humidity. Whether planned or unexpected, power outages can affect our programming and your participation. In the event of a power outage, our protocols and operation plan below will be put into place.
