Adaptive and Inclusive Programs

The City of Walnut Creek has many activities and events for people of all ages with special needs. Join the fun year-round and enjoy Walnut Creek and the Bay Area.

The City of Walnut Creek's adaptive programming is designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have a wide variety of offerings that include excursions around the Bay Area, social dinners, exercise classes, and more! Our specialized staff utilize strength-based approaches and adapted activity facilitation to create fun, safe, and age-appropriate activities for participants. These activities are structured to encourage positive interactions with peers while promoting social skills, independence, physical fitness, personal safety, emotional well-being, and community integration.
