Urban Shield Green Command

  • Date: 09/08/2018 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Participation is open to Walnut Creek CERT members. Point of contact is Jeff Starr <jeffhstarr@gmail.com>

Notice from Margaret Romiti -

Contra Costa County will be again participating in this year’s Urban Shield “Green Command”. There are several changes from last year’s event.  This year only twelve members will have the opportunity to participant for CCC.  I will be your point of contact for any volunteer from your agency that would like to be on the CCC Team. Also, instead of participating as a “team” our members will be mixed with CERT volunteers from other jurisdictions.  In a real emergency you most likely will not be with your group of CERT folks, so this cross-pollination is more realistic and ideal.

Anyone from your program who is interested in participating MUST go through your city coordinator to be vetted and have permission to be on the CCC Roster.  It will be a “first-come, first served” enrollment.  I will create a waitlist of up to an additional 12 participants.  If you have CERT volunteers that are not interested in the “play” portion of the day, but would like to help on the Challenge Course, with registration, be a victim, or any other service; they again must be vetted by their local coordinator. We have lots of volunteer opportunities that need to be filled. Last year was a huge learning experience, and I believe several who “played” would be much more comfortable supporting this event in 2018.

We will have lots of site support volunteer roles that will need to be filled including Moulage.
