Facility Information
Boundary Oak Golf Course has three main sections: a golf course, a pro shop and a banquet facility. There are six ADA parking spaces. There are two entrances to the golf course; both are ADA accessible. Visitors can enter the main ballroom directly from the parking lot. The pro shop is also ADA accessible and does not require the use of stairs to enter. The facility does not have ADA door openers. There are ADA accessible restrooms near the pro shop and in the banquet facility. There is an ADA hearing loop with signage in the main ballroom. Service animals are welcome.
Program Information
The golf course has a paracart available – we suggest calling ahead to let the course know you will want to use it. Boundary Oak is the home course for First Tee of Contra Costa County, a nationwide program designed to make golf accessible for underserved populations.
Facility information
The Center for Community Arts has several buildings across Walnut Creek that offer varying degrees of accessibility. The main building at 111 Wiget Lane; the auditorium and the adjacent annex all have ramps or ADA-accessible entrances and easy access to rooms where programming happens. The Civic Park Ceramic Studio at 1365 Civic Drive and all other studios are at ground level with no stairs to navigate. Each location has at least three ADA parking spots that are clearly marked. Patrons must manually open doors at all facilities; the only facility with an ADA door opener is at the Civic Park Ceramics Studio. Each location has ADA accessible restrooms. The auditorium at 111 Wiget Lane has a hearing loop. Also at 111 Wiget Lane, doors and restrooms within the main building and auditorium are marked with Braille. There are no hearing loops or Braille signage at the Civic Drive Ceramics Studio or other art studios.
Program information
The Center for Community Arts also offers summer camps and pre-schools that they adapt lesson plans and activities for students with adaptive needs. Adaptations are on a case-by-case basis. Parents and guardians are invited to contact the center to discuss their child’s specific needs.

Civic Park Community Center is committed to creating inclusive experiences to meet every need. The center has two ADA parking spaces and all entrances are wheelchair friendly. The center also has ADA-compliant door-openers on the front door and bathrooms, and from the front door to the assembly hall. Interior doors are heavy and are not ADA compliant, but staff is trained to assist with opening doors for people who need assistance. The customer service window in the lobby is wheelchair friendly. Visitors with vision impairments can request magnifying glasses and visitors who are hearing impaired can request instructions and COVID protocol information in writing. There is also a hearing loop through the facility.
Program information
Civic Park Community Center staff is trained to work with American Sign Language interpreter services, seniors and people with adaptive needs. There are ADA therapists on staff. The staff tries to accommodate participants’ needs to increase access to programs. For example, for a student with autism staff created a more conducive environment by turning off the music in the classroom, reducing scent stimuli, and requesting a parent attend the first day of class to provide extra guidance. The center also offers a Summer Day Camp that serves individuals with disabilities, and “gentle” fitness courses.

There are 4 ADA-accessible parking spaces. This facility has ADA door openers to locker rooms and Braille on the walls that lead to the locker rooms. There is a ramp from the veranda to the pool deck. Staff operates an ADA-accessible chair lift to help patrons enter the water; patrons can also access the pool using plastic ADA stairs at the shallow end of the pool. The women’s and men’s restrooms have ADA-accessible bathroom stalls. For larger programming, such as swim meets and parties, staff opens the rolling gate on the side of the building that provides direct access to the pool deck.

The Heather Farm Community Center has 3 ADA parking spaces and curb cuts to the sidewalk. There is a direct route to the front lobby. There are ramps to enter the main building and inside there is a foyer and another ramp that leads to the main room. There are no ADA door openers at this facility. This facility has ADA-accessible restrooms, and there is a ramp that leads from the restroom to the Lakeside Room. There is hearing loop technology in the Lakeside Room. There is standard signage throughout the building about accessibility features; however, this facility does not have Braille signage on entrances. Please bring your own ASL interpreter, if needed.

There is 1 ADA-accessible parking space. This facility is newly renovated – patrons enter at the front door and travel directly to the pool deck. They enter the locker room from the pool deck as well. There are no ADA door openers at this facility. There are Braille instructions on the walls leading to the locker rooms. There are ADA-accessible stalls in the women’s and men’s locker rooms and an ADA-accessible, gender-neutral family restroom on the side of the building. There is an ADA-accessible chair lift that staff uses to help patrons enter the water and ADA-accessible stairs at the shallow end of the pool. Larkey’s spray park is very accessible to people with wheelchairs and mobility issues. For larger programming, such as swim meets and parties, staff opens the rolling gate on the side of the building that provides direct access to the pool deck.

Facility information
The parking garage adjacent to the center has accessible parking and elevators on all floors. The main entrance to the center is accessible through a portal from the parking garage. Visitors entering from the street can access the center from a passenger drop-off curb. There is a natural gradient from the plaza to the front doors. The front doors are heavy and do not have ADA openers, but they are often propped open, and once inside, people with mobility issues will find that the ticket office and theaters are all very accessible. There is an elevator to all floors and ADA-accessible restrooms are available to the general public on all floors. For people accessing the backstage, there is an ADA-accessible restroom on the first floor of the backstage area. Ticket office staff have established seating paths for people with mobility issues, and they make accommodations for service animals.
The entrance to the Bedford Gallery is accessible from the main center lobby. Inside the gallery, the space is flat and each area of the gallery is accessible. The Bedford offers guides in large point font for visitors with vision impairments. There is a BG Art Site located under the spiral staircase that has 3 steps down; the installation can generally be viewed without descending the steps.
Program information
For productions at the Lesher Center that have printed programs, staff will create large-print documents with at least 2 weeks’ advance notice. The center provides American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for larger productions, whenever possible. The center also offers a variety of programming, including shows for children and people with disabilities that allows for movement and conversation during presentations.
The Bedford Gallery offers Free First Fridays each month. All schools within Contra Costa County are eligible for a free school tour of the Bedford Gallery and Title I schools outside Contra Costa County can receive a grant to pay for a school tour. The gallery provides docent-led tours for groups who are neurodiverse. Service animals are allowed in the gallery.

Tice Gym has 2 ADA parking spaces and a direct route to the front entrance. There are no stairs at this facility. Tice Gym has ADA door openers and ADA-accessible restrooms. This facility also provides a family/gender-neutral changing room. There is standard signage throughout the building about accessibility features; however, this facility does not have Braille signage on entrances. Please bring your own ASL interpreter, if needed.
